Classification 

Penguins are aquatic flightless birds.  They come from the family Spheniscidae. They are also warm-blooded.

 

Appearance

Some penguins are blue, some black and white, and even some yellow, red or orange. They have blubber to keep them warm and waterproof feathers, Their knees are hidden. They have webbed feet, and white feathers on their tummy, mostly black, sometimes yellow near their eyes.

Habitat 

They can live in the forest, beach mostly cold places but some hot places. For example- the Antarctic, Australia, New Zealand and the Southern Hemisphere.  

 

Diet 

Penguins eat fish, small sea krill, crab and more.

 

Movement

Penguins waddle they hop, swim and even climb.

 

Dynamics

Penguins climb trees, swim in cold water, and slide on snow and ice.

 

Interesting facts

  They are great swimmers they can dive 100 meters in the water, the dad looks after the babies, and they also can climb.

how to make a model ballista

Goal: try to make a model ballista

What do you need? 10 craft sticks,string,tape,HOT glue gun.

1. Cut one craft stick into half.

2. Hot glue the half sticks onto two full sticks to make a rectangle.

3. Then glue another full craft stick to the other full sticks in the middle.

4. Cut two pieces of string to the right length

5. Insert the two pieces of string and twist the two sticks around it.

6.Glue two sticks along the centre stick to make an arrow holder

7.Make an arrow by getting a craft stick cutting a slit in one of the ends then on the other side make a spike.

8.Then test your ballista!

This experiment you will need a adult supervision for help make sure you have the right stuff have fun!

Action stations DRAMA reflection

this term for ACTION STATIONS my choice was DRAMA. we did fun games at the start we did lap lap clap snap whoosh and shapes. we have been using our voices and different movements with our bodies.to play a variety of DRAMA games. The activity I enjoyed was doing the little red riding hood play because it was really fun and cool. The most challenging part was speaking when we had a ordnance because I don’t like crowds.

Homo polar motar

Goal: Try to make a simple motor. If successful the wire will spin.

What you need:

  • 3 magnets or more
  • AA battery
  • Copper wire
  • Pliers.

1. Cut the copper wire to a good length.

2. Shape the wire to a easy shape.

3. Twirl the wire around the battery.

4. Put the magnets on the bottom of the battery’s

5. Then if dose not spin try some more times until you get it to work.

my superhero

my superhero  is a nature superhero because I love nature trees flowers and books witch also come from trees too witch all of though`s are apart of nature and also if we don`t have nature we wouldn't be alive!

DANCE

at school for the four weeks we learnt line dances .

we also learnt nut bush, folk dancing and heel and toe polka .

i enjoyed the heel and toe polka.

i found difficult wen we had to change partners in the heel and toe polka.

the RISE value i showed was seces i showed this by completing the dance.
